TOUCH DEFILES

I had a hard time putting together this post tonight since its been so long since I've done any real heavy browsing through my usual clothing/accessory haunts. I haven't really had much extra cash which makes it tough to even look at boutiques, let alone create a good selection of stuff.

My point with these "picks of the day" posts and the majority of this blog in general is to attempt to sift through all the crap and "curate" , if you will, a top-notch collection of fashion goodies suitable for darklings such as myself. I try to provide items at all price ranges, but I like to focus on secondhand and low to mid $ goods because that's what I can afford. I'm not one of those bloggers who continually raves about how one just HAS to have those sick new $600 Acne platforms, or A. Wang purse, or Ksubi jeans or whatever. Occasionally I'll add in expensive items but mostly its just because I dig a certain aesthetic. Anyways without further ado:

Picks for today!

Conjure perfume
@ solsticescents
This Etsy brand has a lot of interesting perfumes. Nice little descriptions behind each one, and great prices too. Each perfume bottle runs about $8.00.

Vintage sheer black lace dress

Vintage Bebe corset top
@ recollectionsclothing

Vintage lace thong bodysuit
@ TwiceLux

Cute vintage lingerie tops
@ tarantulasisters

Kind of kickass leather bra. Only $38 bucks! Way cheaper than pretty much every other basic leather bra top I've seen that isn't totally ridiculous. Personally thinking about making this one of my next investments.

Sweet "evil" rosary

Upsidedown cross earrings (you can by them in singles or pairs)
Also at imosh.

Into My Coven

Its one of my last nights here in Pahoa, Hawaii, and since there isn't really much to do around these parts at this time of night besides swat away the bugs and watch tv, I figured I'd do my 'ol recent Etsy picks segment for ya'll.
Back to the Hawaii thing, its been tricky figuring out how an eternally black-clad goth/metalhead like myself was going to dress during our vacation here but I came up with some rather clever combinations that have proved to be comfy. A good choice were the black linen beach pants from Victoria's Secret, along with a swin
gy modal t-shirt. 50spf sunscreen has kept me from getting horrendously burnt (although my boyfriend wasn't so lucky. his back got deep-fried to a lovely red at Hapuna beach on saturday) and cutting all my hair off really decreased the hair-anxiety I'd surely be dealing with right now. Anways I'll put pictures up in a couple days once I get back to SF.

the man with the x-ray eyes

So I've been absent for a while. Finals this quarter sucked, but now they're over and I get to relax for a couple weeks. Woohoo! Then its my final quarter and I'll be graduated from FIDM ready to do whatever I can with this degree I earned.
Anyhoodle, I got my hair cut last week and am loving it. If you're ever in San Francisco and are hankerin' for a haircut, go to my friend Matthew at Oxenrose salon. He knows his shit when it comes to hair as well as being a badass, really friendly dude.
Its lighter now, I've been trying to get lavender hair but bleaching the reddish tones left over from my previous dyejobs has been a bitch.
Also here's a couple pics of my Death In June t-shirt that I shredded. Just an xtra large mens t, then I followed childhoodflames's tutorial for t-shirt shredding and that was that. Super easy and I get asked about it all the time. People are just mystified by it.

basilisk

Picks for today:
(And yeah, I've been gone for ages. Life really can really get in the way of blogging sometimes ya know???)

SHOP: NASTYGAL

Minkpink Velvet Underground stretch velvet mini (I'm all about 90's style crushed velvet. It really is classic.)
$76

Bella lace top
$28

Factory by Erik Hart Fang Tails tee (The shoulder strap is essential. low cut garments have a tendency to fall off the shoulders, especially when they're made of drapey fabrics like this modal here. the strap keeps that from happening, which is a nice touch)
$76

Cowl neck striped cardigan
$64

Faux shearling jacket
$68

Corset tie leggings
$52

Jeffrey Campbell Pixie wedges (I don't think I'll be able to take these off my mind until I have them. They're just too perfect. I hate that I always get a pair of shoes stuck in my head and I obsess until finally they're out of stock everywhere and usually I'll never end up getting them because I'm always poor. *sigh*)
$178
